SHE STILL WASN’T DOING WELL, BUT AS OF THIS AFTERNOON, THE LANCASTER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE TELLS ME SHE IS ALIVE AT A LINCOLN HOSPITAL AFTER A911 CALL FROM A LINCOLN FUNERAL HOME, A RADIO CALL THAT WILL GRAB YOUR ATTENTION. THERE’S MASTER LOVE FUNERAL HOME FOR A 74 YEAR OLD FEMALE THAT WAS BELIEVED TO BE DECEASED AND BROUGHT HERE, IS NOW A AGONAL BREATHING ON THE TABLE. YOU’LL BE ON TACK FOR TACK FOR I REMEMBER EVERYBODY LISTENING TO IT COME OVER THE RADIO, AND YOU KIND OF TOOK A DOUBLE GLANCE OF, DID I JUST HEAR WHAT I HEARD? LANCASTER COUNTY CHIEF DEPUTY BEN HOUCHIN HEARD IT CORRECTLY. I’VE BEEN DOING THIS 31 YEARS, AND I’VE NEVER HEARD OF ANYTHING GETTING THIS FAR ON A DEATH INVESTIGATION OR A DEATH CASE TO WHERE THEY’RE BEING FOUND IN THE FUNERAL HOME ALIVE AT A WAVERLE NURSING HOME, THE MULBERRY, 74 YEAR OLD CONSTANCE GLANCE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT ABOUT 945 MONDAY MORNING. SHE WAS ON HOSPICE. TWO HOURS LATER. SHE WAS ON HER WAY TO A LINCOLN HOSPITAL. IT PLACED HER ON A TABLE TO START THE PROCESS AND NOTICED HER CHEST GOING UP AND DOWN AND THE RIGHT THEN AND THERE, AND STARTED CALLING 911. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE WASN’T INVOLVED AFTER SHE WAS DECLARED DECEASED BECAUSE IT WAS A HOSPICE DEATH, BUT LANCASTER COUNTY INVESTIGATORS VISITED THE NURSING HOME ON MONDAY AFTERNOON. AT THIS TIME, WE HAVE NOT FOUND, LIKE ANY CRIMINAL INTENT OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, BUT WE’RE CONTINUING OUR AN INVESTIGATION. BOTH THE NURSING HOME AND THE FUNERAL HOME DENIED COMMENT. I ALSO ASKED THE NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES IF THERE OPENING AN INVESTIGATION.

UPDATE: 74-year-old Constance Glantz, who was mistakenly declared dead Monday at a nursing home in Waverly, died later that day, the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said.A woman who was believed to be dead was breathing at a funeral home in Lincoln and is still alive, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office.Authorities responded to Butherus-Maser & Love Funeral Home, located near S 40th and A streets, around 11:45 a.m. for a medical emergency, officials said.Law enforcement said funeral home staff was conducting CPR on a woman, who was taken to a local hospital. The woman, identified as 74-year-old Constance Glantz, was declared dead around 9:44 a.m. Monday at a nursing home in Waverly, The Mulberry, the Lancaster County Sheriff Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said.Officials said Glantz is still alive and her family has been notified.Staff at the facility pronounced Glantz, who was in hospice care, dead. Houchin said at this time there are no signs of criminal intent by the nursing home, but the investigation is ongoing. Both the nursing home and the funeral home denied comment.KETV asked the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services if they will investigate. DHHS regulations Nebraska long-term care facilities.Houchin called it a "very unusual case." "Been doing this 31 years and nothing like this has ever gotten to this place before.
