Navigating the Modern Web App (2024)

Zimbra’s Modern Web Application is a new client for Zimbra Collaboration, built from the ground up to provide a clean and simple user experience on any device.It offers a responsive user interface that is easy to use across devices, has intuitive navigation, supports customizations, is secure and accessible.

The Modern Web App is offered with Zimbra Collaboration Release 9.0.0 to all customers who have a Network Edition license.

This document is specifically created for users of Classic Web App migrating to the new user experience of the Modern Web App. It is a step by step guide of basic functionality, which can help Classic Web App users, get accustomed to the Modern Web App.

AreasClassic UIModern UICompose and Send

a Message


1. On Mail tab, click New Message.

2. In the composer, add recipient email address in To field.

3. Add cc.

4. Add Subject.

5. Add Attachments.

6. Click Options -> Show BCC..

7. Click Send to send email.

Email Priority

1. On the Mail tab click New Message -> Options.

2. Select from High, Normal or Low Priority option.

Choose Contact

1. On the Mail tab click New Message -> To to launch the choose contacts dialog.

2. Select contacts from the drop-down list and click Ok.

Create a Tag

1. On Mail tab, click Tags.

2. Enter the new Tag Name and select a Color for the tag.

Send Later

1. In Compose Pane, click dropdown sign near Send button.

2. Click Send Later.

3. Set your preferred time and date to send email.

Email Search

1. Go to the Search Bar and type a keyword to search.

Add Personas

1. Go to Preferences -> Account

2. Click on Add Persona.

Viewing and Writing Email

1. Go to Preferences -> Mail

2. You can configure your settings for viewing and writing mails.

Mobile Configuration

1. Go to Preferences -> Connected Devices & Apps

Filters

1. Go to Preferences -> Filters

2. Click on Create Filter to add a filter.

Security and Activity

1. Go to Preferences -> Connected Devices and Apps.

2. Navigate to Authorised App. You can find all connected devices here if any.

Offline Mode

1. Go to the Drop Down sign beside your name at the top right corner.

2. Click on Offline Mode in the drop down.

Trusted Addresses

1. Go to Preferences -> Trusted Addresses.

2. You can Add/Remove addresses or domain.

Request Read Receipts

1. Go to Preferences -> Mail-> Composing Messages.

2. Select Always Request Read Receipt.

Spam/Block and Allow Email

1. Go to Preferences -> Mail -> Spam Mail Options.

2. Add Senders and Domain to be blocked/allowed.

Compose Right to Left

1. Go to Preferences -> General ->Time Zone and Language.
